Comparative study on the distribution of value in European chocolate chains

This study investigates the French market for dark and milk chocolate bars, as well as breakfast cocoa powders and chocolate bars sold in supermarkets – made from cocoa beans grown in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Ecuador and Cameroon – with the aim of providing estimates of the distribution of value, costs, taxes and margins along the various links in the cocoa/chocolate chain.
